Chicago: The Layover Style
Every year in June, my hubby heads to Chicago for the internet retailers conference. Somehow, it's always a last minute, short trip. This year was no different, but Z and I decided to tag-along. While I have been through O'hare dozens of times, I have never made it out of the airport and into the city of Chicago. I actually had NO idea what a large city it was (so much for being a world-traveler).
We flew in on a Tuesday, and back home on Thursday... so we really got a small taste of what this city is all about. While Andrew spent pretty much the entire time at the conference, Z and I explored the city. We managed to see Millennium Park (And the Giant Bean), Maggie Daley Park (literally the BEST park I've ever been to), Navy Pier, Sears Tower, Shedd Aquarium, and Lincoln Park Zoo; rode the water taxi; and we ate hot dogs, cheezborgers and deep dish pizza (twice). In addition to all of that, I got to meet up with a photographer/friend I know from an online photography course we did together last year. She has a daughter around Z's age, so it made our day that much more amazing.
